Where can I get free information about becoming an Internet Marketer?

I like the web. It's one great big reference library. You can always find what you need - sometimes you just need to look long and hard.

As libraries go the web is huge! More books in more languages than the great library at Alexandra. Unfortunately it also has more rubbish than graffiti written on toilet walls. Too much of the information you can find on the web is a waste of time. From time to time I will recommend some of the free information I come across - and if you have anything you think I should recommend then let me know - but for the most part you have to start trawling through on your searches and figuring out for yourself what will be of use :S

So in answer to the question "Where can I find free information about becoming an internet marketer?". The shortest answer is "On the web".

Seek and ye shall find. ;)

How do you make money online?

This applies to any type of business.

Okay so you create a website. Nope, not rich yet...
Then you remember to tell people about your website! Okay, maybe some money coming in but not too much...
You start to become more 'net savvy, so you use any methods you can to link to your site and tell people about your products. Now things are starting to go the way you wanted them to from the start...

The only problem is only people that were looking for your site or your type of product will ever visit your site and buy anything. You need some way to let people know (without spamming them!) that your business exists.

One of the very best tools I've come across is Atomic Email extractor, I like it so much that I've put a permanent link to it from the blog site. In fact if you bought it from this link I would get a commission - but that has not swayed my opinion otherwise I'd be the type of person that recommends absolutely everything (I don't!). If you like it but don't want me to get a commission then workaround it.

What is it? It's an email extractor. It checks websites for email addresses, but not only that it will then test if the addresses are real or not - without sending any sort of email.

Why do I need it? You could go to any website and trawl through pages and pages looking for email addresses for people to contact, this is a huge time-saver. It will also check for duplicate email addresses.

Is it not spam to just email someone using the addresses this tool finds? No. Not only is it not spam - assuming you are sending a genuine email - but it has an opt-out feature too. So if they don't want further emails from you then then don't have to receive them.

How would it benefit me? Let's say you own an office cleaning business. You could waste hours going through the phone book, door to door or checking websites for companies in your area that you could promote your services to. With Atomic Email extractor you target what you want (business with office in your area) and get it to check the websites for email addresses (that work) and contact names. This is a much quicker way to find businesses to target. You can now start an email marketing campaign.

I think this tool is great. I hope it helps you too :) For the full explanation of how it works and what it can do check it out for yourself Atomic Email extractor.

Just to be different....

More and more people jump on the bandwagon of Internet Marketing and I think that's a good thing. As with any commerce healthy competition is always good. The big boys - the guys that got into Internet Marketing early on were not only able to capture a large share of the market (customer loyalty) and could also charge a premium due to lack of competition. The problem is due to a large customer database and having raked in the money for years these guys will tell you "anyone can do it" and will imply that you can make millions by doing exactly what they do.

Talk about being half right. Anyone can do it, in the way that anyone can do pretty much anything if they put their mind to it. Positive thinking is a powerful thing, just make sure you weigh up all your options.

I am not against any of these guys that have been around for a while (well maybe one or two that I really think use/have used dubious methods), but I don't see why they should be the only ones making real money. If a new shop opens up on the high street do you go and at least look in there or do you refuse because you will always shop 'only here'?

I have had a very busy few months (no, I am not about to launch a new product so no need to worry that I am going to have an amazing product to offer you, or a countdown to when it will be launched) :)

But I have been keeping an eye open (on the rare occasions I've had a few spare minutes) to see what products are coming out, what techniques are being used to sell them and who seems to be doing well in their marketing.

For those of you that don't believe the 'anyone can do it' , check out David Roach - he's no spring chicken and is dong well for himself, but what I particularly like is that he really wants affiliates that are keen to make money - he wants good affiliates to share his 'journey to riches'.

More about what I've been up to in a future post ;)
